Xiaohu Tian

小壶天

The meaning of 'Little Hutian takes small pots, small Qiankun is big'. Due to the structure of the top of the gourd resembling an arched crown, people in the pot have a beautiful meaning of promotion and appointment. On January 28, 1618 AD, due to heavy snowfall, Xu Xiake was unable to continue his journey and accepted an invitation from the then host Wang Bohua to drink and discuss mysteries here.

Xiaohutian is also the site where negative fossils of dinosaur footprints and trails were discovered in Qiyun Mountain. The more than twenty raised marks on the cliff above people's heads are dinosaur footprint fossils. Dinosaur footprints fossils are very precious, especially negative fossils. Because only when the soil is suitable for both dryness and wetness, as well as softness and hardness, can a pit be left behind. After the pit is formed, it needs to be kept for a period of time without being washed away by rainwater or lake water in order to form a dry and hard impression. After the impression is formed, it can be quickly filled with sediment and not eroded again. Then, it is compressed by later sedimentary materials over a long geological period to form rocks. Only when these factors are present can fossils be formed.
